Death certificates are recorded and filed in the City Clerk's Office for those individuals who are pronounced deceased in the City of Yonkers. Death records are confidential records under New York State law. Certificates may only be obtained by individuals with proof of identification and proof of relationship or direct and tangible interest. IN PERSON REQUESTS:
The office is open Monday through Friday.Walk-ins are welcome. The applicant must be at least 18 years old and must have valid photo identification. Death certificates may only be obtained by the surviving spouse, parents, children, or siblings of the deceased.Please note: if obtaining a parent's, or sibling's death certificate, then you must also produce your original birth certificate showing your parent's name.

The City Clerk's Office is located in Room 107 at City Hall, 40 South Broadway, Yonkers, New York 10701. For driving directions, enter 87 Nepperhan Avenue, Yonkers, NY 10701 in your GPS device. It will take you directly to the municipal parking lot adjacent to City Hall.
